Poll's Hoogte was a "spawning ground for culture in the Archipel". Françoise Poll held interesting lectures and musical performances in her pleasant sitting room for a number of years. Including performers like her childhood friend, singer Astrid Seriese. Astrid, a Haags-Indische jazz musician composes lyrics in partnership with writers and rock and rap musicians.
