The Church of St. John and St. Philip (known locally as the "English" Church) is a friendly, international Anglican church with members from more than 40 countries and many Christian denominations. About a third of its members are Dutch. Sunday services range from traditional to more contemporary and informal in style. There are groups for children and young people aged 0-18, as well as additional youth activities during the week.

There has been an Anglican Church in The Hague since 1586. It has occupied four buildings on different sites, and the present building was consecrated in 1952. The bell that calls the congregation to worship on Sundays is the original bell from the first church building.

As well as its religious services, charity and missionary work, the English Church offers a wide range of activities, including playgroups for the young, bazars, concerts, Scottish dancing, ballet lessons, choral singing and even a cricket match.
