Free Newspaper for Polish Residents

Poles living and working in The Netherlands can pick up a free Polish weekly via temping agencies, bus companies and Polish stores. ‘Popolsku’ is written mainly in Polish, also featuring some Dutch articles. In The Hague, the Polish community has already set up several shops, a school and a church.

This is a non-profit organization that can provide help and advice on a very wide range of subjects for new arrivals in the Netherlands. There is an Information Help Line (+31-70-346 25 25 available weekdays from 10.00 - 16.00) as well as a Counselling Services Network, Community Education Programmes and a selection of publications providing information to a broad group of people living in the Netherlands, addressing many of the questions most frequently asked within the international community. The Information Calendar, ACCESS Package, and Fact sheets, offering step-by-step information on potentially confusing topics such as obtaining a Dutch driver's license or use of public transportation in The Netherlands, are particularly helpful. There is a bimonthly newsletter too.

Bronovo Opens Outpatient Clinic for Expat Children
6 June 2007

The hospital’s paediatricians will hold a surgery every two weeks between 13.30 and 15.30, where parents can bring their children for all kinds of medical problems and also for vaccinations and check-ups. This is part of a campaign to make Dutch healthcare more accessible to expats. The campaign is being supported by the Ministries of Health and Foreign Affairs.
