Take part in the 4-day swimming event

During the Autumn Break from 22 to 26 October 2018 The Hague’s swimming pools will organise the ‘Zwem4daagse’, an annual event. Take part by swimming laps or participating in the relay.

The Zwem4daagse is a sports activity for the entire family. It is also a good reason to be active and for children it’s a good way to work on their swimming skills.

Lap or relay?

During the Zwem4daagse you can choose to swim laps in 1 particular swimming pool: Het Hofbad, De Houtzagerij, De Blinkerd, Zuiderpark or De Waterthor. Or you can choose for the relay option where you swim in a different pool each evening.

When

During the Autumn Break from Monday, 22 October to Friday, 26 October 2018. The time slots vary per swimming pool.

  • If you opt for 1 swimming pool, then you swim during the day
  • If you opt for the relay in different pools, then you swim in the evening.

Who is it for?

Everybody who has at least an A swimming certificate.

Fees

A ticket costs € 10. Children younger than 16 years and seniors 65+ pay € 7.50.

Registration

You can register by 22 October through the website van de zwem4daagse.

Which distances can you swim?

The swimming distances which you can swim are:

  • 250 metres per day (10 laps of 25 metres)
  • 500 metres per day (20 laps of 25 metres)
  • 1,000 metres per day (40 laps of 25 metres)
Good to know
  • You choose which stroke you want to swim.
  • You count your laps yourself.

It is up to you to swim your laps each day of the event. The staff at the swimming pools will encourage the participants as much as they can. If you took part in at least 4 days of the Zwem4daagse, you will get a medal. You are also allowed to swim 5 days.
