The Hague Municipal Executive has approved the draft design for Plein 1813 and has released it for public commentary.

The public space needs to be adapted to realise the necessary security measures due to the relocation of the Embassy of Israel to Plein 1813. The municipality will use this opportunity to improve the square and make it greener.

Plein 1813

Process and comments

Over the last few months the municipality drafted a design together with a brainstorming group of residents and interest groups under the guidance of a designer. The Municipal Executive agreed to this draft design on 10 July 2018 and released it for public commentary.

You can look at the documents from 16 July to 10 September 2018 at The Hague Information Centre or online under RISnummer 300142.

You can submit a response to these documents before 11 September. These responses will be presented to The Hague Municipal Executive, which will then agree to the preliminary design and present it to the Municipal Council for approval.

Once the Municipal Council approves it, it will be turned into a final design. Based on the final design the municipality will begin preparing  the construction work. Work is expected to take place in the second quarter of 2019.
