Javastraat open again to traffic
The Javastraat reopened to traffic on 15 June. The street was given a new design between the Nassauplein and Koninginnegracht. The Javastraat has been narrowed from 2 lanes to 1 lane in order to create room for a new designated cycle path in the direction of Kijkduin. A new cycle lane was created on the opposite side of the street. The sewer system was also replaced.
Work will start at the beginning of July on the narrow portion of the Laan van Meerdervoort. Designated cycle paths will also be created here in both directions, one lane of traffic will be eliminated for cars and the sewer system will be replaced. This project should be completed in November 2016.
